The Experiment Table was developed as part of Yrjö Kukkapuro’s long-term research into functional workspaces and industrial furniture systems. Although the conceptual work began earlier, the table entered original series production in Finland during the 1980s through Avarte.
The design reflects a precise and rational construction: a white laminate top on a wooden core, supported by a lacquered tubular steel frame. Its restrained geometry and structural clarity embody the principles of late modernist Finnish design, where furniture was conceived as a durable and efficient working tool.
