Blow Up bowl in bamboo by the Campana Brothers for Alessi

This striking bamboo centerpiece, designed by Brazilian brothers Fernando (1961–2022) and Humberto Campana (b. 1953), was produced by Alessi in Italy in 2010. Originally introduced in 2004 in stainless steel, the Blow Up series was first prototyped in bamboo. Six years later, Alessi revisited the idea, creating this rare production version in natural material—a piece that emphasizes craftsmanship, organic texture, and playful experimentation, central to both the Campanas’ and Alessi’s philosophy.

Now out of production, this work embodies the Campana Brothers’ signature design language: objects that feel spontaneous, irregular, and alive. Its sculptural form makes it both a functional vessel and a conversation piece.
