Valinte was a Finnish lighting manufacturer active during the mid-20th century, known for its elegant and functional designs that reflected the ideals of Scandinavian Modernism. The company was founded in 1942 by entrepreneur Into Lintero, and its name is a play on words: combining valaisin (Finnish for “lamp”) with Lintero’s surname.

Valinte became known for producing high-quality fixtures in metal, often paired with acrylic or opaline glass. Its designs were characterized by clean lines, balanced proportions, and a focus on material quality rather than ornament, making them popular in both private homes and public interiors. Many models were marked with “Valinte” or a “V-e” stamp, sometimes accompanied by serial numbers.

During the 1960s and 1970s, the company continued to expand its range, adapting to new materials and changing tastes. In the 1970s, Valinte was renamed Lampukas Oy, but the original Valinte pieces remain the most collectible today.

Although less internationally recognized than Finnish lighting companies such as Orno or Idman, Valinte’s lamps hold a special place among collectors of vintage Scandinavian design. Their timeless forms and refined craftsmanship make them sought-after examples of Finland’s rich lighting heritage.
