Coffee pot in copper by Maija Heikinheimo for Artek
Designed in the 1950s, this piece pairs lustrous copper with warm teak in a minimalist Finnish modern design. Measuring ~19 cm tall, it's both a practical pot and a sculptural accent piece—part of a limited-run collection by Valaistustyö Ky for Artek. Perfect for lovers of Scandinavian heritage design and collectible tabletop objects.
Maija Heikinheimo (1908-1963) was a visionary Finnish designer who dedicated nearly her entire career to Artek, working closely with Aino and Alvar Aalto. She rose through the ranks to become Chief Designer and Artistic Director, masterfully interpreting Aalto’s architectural vision into furniture and interior pieces that blend function and elegance. Despite her deep impact, her work was often unsigned or attributed to her more famous collaborators—though her modesty and refinement are unmistakable in every detail.
Made from warm-toned copper with a teak handle and lid—a harmonious pairing of metal and wood. The pot measures approximately 12 × 25 × 19 cm, standing out for its elegant proportions
