A valuable collector’s piece, it combines artistic precision with rarity, ideal for connoisseurs of modern graphic art.
Lars‑Gunnar “L‑G” Nordström (1924–2014), also known as “Nubben,” was a Finnish pioneer of Concretism. Born in Helsinki, he studied design and art in Finland and abroad, holding his first solo exhibition in 1949—the first purely non-representational show in Finland.
His art was built on geometric precision, vibrant color fields, and musical structure. Nordström worked across painting, printmaking, sculpture, and public art, with a distinct visual language rooted in rhythm and clarity.
He gained broader recognition in the 1970s and received several honors, including the Prince Eugen Medal. Also a teacher and graphic designer, Nordström was a passionate jazz collector and saw parallels between music and visual form. He passed away in 2014, and a major retrospective of his work was held at EMMA in 2015.
