This clear glass 'sooda' bottle, designed by Kaj Franck for Iittala between 1948 and 1954, exemplifies mid-century Scandinavian craftsmanship. Made from freely blown soda bubble glass, it stands appr. 16 cm tall. The piece is signed "K. FRANCK – IITTALA" and carries the model number 5050. It shows only minor signs of use, making it a valuable collector’s item that reflects both functional design and artistic heritage.

Kaj Franck (1911–1989) was a leading Finnish designer celebrated for his commitment to functionalism, simplicity, and democratic design. Working across glass, ceramics, and tableware, Franck believed good design should be accessible to everyone, stripping objects down to their essential forms without unnecessary ornamentation.

Best known for his work with Iittala and Arabia, his enduring creations include the Teema tableware and Kartio glass series—both still in production today. Franck’s timeless designs balance practicality with refined aesthetics, making them as relevant now as when they were first introduced. Collectors value his work for its purity, usability, and enduring influence on Scandinavian design.
