IKEA PS 2017 spot lamp by Ola Wihlborg for IKEA

Unveiled in 2017 as part of IKEA’s experimental PS series, the PS 2017 lamp reflects Idaern Nordic design—functional yet expressive. Ola Wihlborg conceived a striking spotlight silhouette, reminiscent of military searchlights, that supports multiple display options: on the floor, wall-mounted, or perched on a table. Compact yet bold, this lamp boasts dimensions of approximately 32 cm in height and 24 cm in diameter.

Ola Wihlborg, who studied at Beckmans College of Design in Stockholm, pursued a career in industrial design upon graduating in 2004. Based in Älmhult, Sweden, he has collaborated with global brands and designed everything from furniture to lighting, including IKEA’s PS 2017 lamp
