Sam Larsson was a Swedish furniture designer active during the mid- to late 20th century, best known for his collaboration with the Swedish manufacturer DUX. His work is characterized by clean, modern lines, high comfort, and the use of quality materials such as leather, bentwood, and steel.
Among his most notable creations is the “Sam” chair, introduced in the 1970s, featuring a sleek tubular steel frame, deeply upholstered leather seat, and a distinctive leather strap detail on the back. The design was versatile, suitable for both domestic and commercial interiors, and remains in production today as part of DUX’s heritage range.
Larsson also designed the Mona Roto swivel chair, combining a steam-bent beech frame with leather and canvas for a sculptural yet functional look, as well as the Fenix chaise longue and various lounge chairs. His designs embody the Scandinavian principles of functionality, simplicity, and timeless appeal, and they continue to be sought after on the vintage market.
