Three framed graphic sheets by Aili Hiukka-Iivarinen
Original woodcut prints by Finnish artist Aili Hiukka-Iivarinen, titled Hänen kirkkaus (“Her Radiance”), created in 1977 and later exhibited at Varkaus Art Museum as part of the exhibition Heijastus – menossa mukana (2016).
The piece portrays a quiet procession of elongated, cloaked figures moving through light and shadow — a recurring motif in Hiukka-Iivarinen’s work that reflects on community, spirituality, and the inner strength of solitude. Executed in deep monochrome, the print embodies the introspective stillness typical of Finnish post-war graphic art.
Printed on heavy paper and framed in solid pine, the prints carry both artistic and regional significance, standing as a serene and timeless example of Nordic minimalism.
