Uten.Silo II, by Dorothee Becker for Vitra
The Uten.Silo II is a compact wall-mounted organizer designed in 1969 by Dorothee Maurer-Becker. Originally conceived during the height of post-war modernism, it reflects a clear functional logic: storage becomes architecture. Form follows need, not decoration.
This smaller version features a structured arrangement of containers, hooks, and clips molded in durable ABS plastic. The matte black finish sharpens the graphic quality of the design and makes it particularly suited for contemporary interiors—equally effective in an office, kitchen, studio, or hallway.
Today produced by Vitra as part of its official re-edition program, the Uten.Silo remains one of the most recognizable modular storage objects of the 20th century.
